Review: Brotherhood in Death

Brotherhood in Death Brotherhood in Death by J.D. Robb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh! My! God!!!! I love Dennis Mira!!!

I loved this book from start to finish. I was so pulled into the story that I couldn't put it down. Mr. Mira's has always been one of my favorite characters, but this book and story just sealed it for me. While Dr. Mira has always been fond of Eve, after this, I can totally see Mr. Mira seeing and treating Eve as an extension of their family.

This was a difficult case for Eve. First, because it involved Mr. Mira and she has a crush on him and, second, because the issue at the base of the crime is rape. The more she digs into the victims and tries to find the killers, the more she comes to dislike her victim. She is used to not always liking her victim though, but in this case, I think that it is harder on her because of the evidence that she finds and where it leads her.

You also see some changes coming to her division. Troy Trueheart is promoted to Detective and Eve tells Peabody of at least one uniform who she is looking at to pull into the division. They also introduce a new detective who works in Central. I know that there are a lot of detectives in Central, but this on seemed to fit in with her team and everyone she runs into after meeting him has good things to say about him.
